INVICTUS GAMES 2017
Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate,  I am the captain of my soul.

The Invictus Games are an international paralympic style multi-sport event in which wounded, injured and sick armed forces personnel participate. The specially adapted sports include; wheelchair basketball , sitting volleyball and indoor rowing. Coming to Toronto in September, 2017, the games were created by HRH Prince Harry in 2014. He drew his inspiration from the Warrior Games that he attended in Colorado in 2013.
The poem "Invictus" was written by the English poet William Ernest Henley (1849–1903). Henley was an amputee.
